NOTES FROM THE DOLLHOUSE - REBIRTH OF EMILY
I have been asleep for a thousand years it seems.
Walking away from the nightmares and towards dreams.
Lost in the fog.
Still unable to see.
My only compass are fragments of memories.
Where do I go now?
Into the darkness, I scream.
Trapped inside the illusion.
Blinded by what I have seen.
The tears burn as they fall from my eyes.
Like the raindrops falling in the summer sky.
My heart hurts with each breath I take.
Clawing my way through the dirt,
Trying desperately not to break.
From the mirror, I look out.
Weary of the monsters lurking about.
They grin and smile,
So hateful and vile.
Back to sleep, I wish to be.
The walls of the manor, cold and grand,
Demand I rise and stand.
The glow of the chandelier,
Just revealed the pathway, oh so clear.
Miss Bessie pulled the knife from my back and dressed my wound.
She promised that it would heal soon.
Roses in bloom.
The thorns cut deep.
I long to feel alive again.
Many promises to keep.
Buried beneath the floorboards.
The one that always creaks.
You will find the key to my heart.
Not the treasure you seek.
Whiskey and smoke.
Inspiration and greed.
Dig a little deeper.
Plant those seeds.
Friend or foe?
Hell, I do not know.
Are they not one in the same?
This rebirth was not as I imagined it to be.
Inside out and upside down.
But I came back,
Just as promised.
Your beloved Emily.
